David Osborne Engineering Ltd. has been in business in the UK for over 30 Years. It was originally started in 1978 as PHB ( Pohlig Heckel Bleichert ) when David Osborne was appointed UK Operations Manager to start the bulk materials handling business in the UK for this large German bulk Materials Handling Company. In 1980 PHB in Germany merged with another large bulk materials company Weserhütte, at which time the company in the UK was renamed PHB Weserhütte Ltd.( PWH ) and David became Managing Director.
In 1988 PWH was bought by O & K Orenstein and Koppel. another large engineering company, at which time the name was changed to PWH Materials Handling Ltd. Following the merger in 1993 of O & K 's parent company Hoesch with Krupp the company again changed it's name to Krupp Materials Handling Ltd., and following a merger of Krupp with Thyssen in 2000 the company once again changed it's name to Thyssen Krupp Materials Handling Ltd.
In 2008 the company went through a management by-out ,and as David was well known in the field of bulk materials handling, it was decided to call the company David Osborne Engineering Ltd. the company is now the appointed agent for the UK and Ireland for ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik GmbH.
The company specialises in the design, development, project management ,sales and marketing of mining , processing, bulk materials handling plants , systems and equipment, recycling and waste handling systems as well as spare parts ,service, repairs and refurbishment projects for all types and makes of bulk materials plant and equipment, including pipe conveyors and ship uoploaders. The company is an ISO 9001 registered firm.
